SISTERARTS is a free program that educates economically disadvantaged African-American women in the use of professional video, serving as a conduit to job opportunities in film and television.
SISTERARTS is a non-profit organization which provides training, support and information to a group that is profoundly underserved in the area of technical skills.
A primary goal of SISTERARTS is to train and support black women in the telling of their stories in their own voice in a technically proficient way.
The SISTERARTS program consists of three components:
Historical analysis of the role of African-Americans in film and television. Technical training in video pre-production, production and post-production. Support and informational resources for distribution of projects and career opportunities.
